Sketchup / Architectural Designs

I found vray for sketchup a few years ago. I saw its options panels and I ran. Also at the time I did not have a good computer, and I thought it would take for ever to render! br
So I went on a render engine search…man I tried everything! Podium, kerkethya, and some others I can’t recall. For awhile there I did podium and kerkyrhea for different types of renders. Keekythea did well on my exterior renders but I could not wait hours for it to render , so allot of my renders you see are not even completed all the way through !  And they still dint make me feel that, realistic wow factor I wanted.br
Recently I have come back to v-ray now that I have a better computer and boy am I kicking myself for not sticking with if when I first found it! Best render out! So now I am preparing ( while learning vray ) my past work to render in vray. Vray is so advanced and has so many options that a few clicks can male you very happy, or very sad. br
It’s all about the textures and lighting. When the renders come out you see such realism that you notice the imperfections on your design and it makes you go back and add more details. I like that. br
So here are a few of my re-renders in vray for sketchup. I’m still not completely  satisfied,  not until I learn the best settings and post processing procedures for my designs. But boy is this still fun!

Before…

This wonderful home happened by accident. All I was going to do was do some quick testing and one thing led to another, and viola! Mission Tile home 2011!

This is another home I had from a while back… Added new details with the new skills, and re-rendered. I really like how it came out!

This one is probably one of the best ones I have done … Until my next one ;) I call this design Redux because it was a redo from an old file I had from about a year ago-check it out on this photo here at the lower left. Its uuuugly! But I was just playing and learning the software. So I decided to revisit it and redo it. I actually deleted the entire thing and kept the car! But I knew what I wanted it it to look like and it just happened! It went so smooth, I spent way more time on deciding on materials and trees than I did the actual house! (maybe not, but close) So here are my renders, hope you like them. Because I do. [I will have interior shots soon, but I have so many projects to shoot out it may not happen right away]

This home I am very proud of. This is from the “so I decided to bring an old drawing to life post” . But I felt the house needed some refinement like I actually wanted from the drawing. So I did some fine touches that makes this house classier and more, well, refined.  (the back of this one is sweet, I need to do some renders of it!)

I guess I just love all of my designs. I love how they come out. People tell me they sometimes look like works of art! What a compliment! This one I called Grandure because it has this grand stature to it. When I get other renders you will notice the sloping of the driveway to give way to the lower story garage. Thanks for checking out my work! More work coming!

This is a city I created – “Montoya Beach” … My true addiction. I have to pull myself away from this to get other things done (not really, but yea).  More background information and renders coming soon!

This image below is just me showing proof that this is MY work. And that there is allot of detail in this! I don’t know if its the program or the computer, but one of them is slowing down the process…

————————

These next images are images of the initial growth of this city! Some of the renders are not the best, but those were done during the growth of this huge city, check them out! People have told me they wish they could live in this city, shoot I WISH I could live in my cities!

I was designing my church in sketchup and then I decided, hey! Why not put my church on Google Earth also! This one I was really proud of.

Fresno is the town I grew up in, its my home. So when I found out I could create buildings to be accepted into Google Earth I started learning on how to do it!
This is the first building I tried to create. Its not as simple as it looks, well not when you’re a stickler for details. Since I did not have images of these buildings I get the screen captures from Google street view, take it to Photoshop, then put it all together in Sketchup. This first building, the Video Gallery, took me longer than it should of because I was just learning. The Building there to the left was next. I was hooked! (I love how you can see the rest of the buildings in the background!)

After I created those smaller buildings I said, hey LETS go big or go HOME! SO I decided to take on a more detailed building in my downtown area. (Note: Someone had already created several buildings for Fresno for Google Earth, those buildings I will have hidden from these screen captures. They took some fun buildings to try, but thats ok, they look nice also.) The next building I decided to try was the new US Security Bank Building. I wanted to try some of the newer buildings right away. The thing with the Google Earth buildings, they can actually deny them if they are no good! So I was happy mine were chosen, even though sometimes you had to wait like a week before they accepted them in.

Here is Fresno in 3d! Like I said before I hid the buildings I did not create. So all of these are the ones I created. I have many more to do!
