Sketchup and vray are very rewarding once you get the hang of it!

A new kitchen render … Tajhmar T Architecture Works. Decided to create kitchen, just because. So one night I just started creating it was supposed to be smaller. I really like how it came out! Not my dream kitchen, but I had only done one kitchen prior to this one. I really enjoy sketchup and vray, oh yea and designing.

This second one was because the red on white felt too commercial, so I wanted more earth tones. I’m going to render this one again with better vray settings soon.

New settings… But it was too dark and the appliances were bugging me, specially the fridge.

So I fixed the settings again and I changed the appliances. MUCH BETTER!

Saw a picture tonight [feb 21, 2012] of an Audi by this house and I got inspired to re-create the picture. I didnt spend too much time on the render settings because I was trying to get the rocks displaced, but it was taking FOREVER to render, so I did grass. I love sketchup 8 and vray!
I’ll spend more time on better settings later…

This is what I would be drawing whenever I had free time as a young lad. I believe I was in a free period in high school when I drew this. Im going to share some of my old drawings that I am scanning to make them digitally live for ever.

Can you tell Architecture and Landscape Architecture was in my blood!

So my buddy Jasen Hudson Photography asked me if I could use my architectural design skills to dream up a visualization for the new studio he and some partners are working on. So he sends me a few photos, gives me the dimensions, and I design away. Funny thing with this project was that I just thought about it, and thought about it but never put anything on paper or anything. I just got inspiration today and started the project and I just couldnt stop. This is how I know I love this type of work (Architectural designing) I worked, and fixed and rendered, forgot to eat, time just flew!
So I designed this in sketchup, with furniture from the warehouse, and rendered in Kerkythea. I really am very proud of this because it was exactly what the client was envisioning! This was not my vision, this was just me making his vision come to life.
Here are some before images:

AND THIS IS the visualization of the space:

- And the next image below is the space visualized as a small cafe in the front area:

Loving this Lumion 2.0! Lumion allows me to render with some awesome trees, environment, water. And the best part if the animation capabilities! I have a few short videos I did I will post soon. They are short because it takes quite a while to render with the best quality. Check just a small sample of what I have rendered in Lumion.

I found vray for sketchup a few years ago. I saw its options panels and I ran. Also at the time I did not have a good computer, and I thought it would take for ever to render! br
So I went on a render engine search…man I tried everything! Podium, kerkethya, and some others I can’t recall. For awhile there I did podium and kerkyrhea for different types of renders. Keekythea did well on my exterior renders but I could not wait hours for it to render , so allot of my renders you see are not even completed all the way through !  And they still dint make me feel that, realistic wow factor I wanted.br
Recently I have come back to v-ray now that I have a better computer and boy am I kicking myself for not sticking with if when I first found it! Best render out! So now I am preparing ( while learning vray ) my past work to render in vray. Vray is so advanced and has so many options that a few clicks can male you very happy, or very sad. br
It’s all about the textures and lighting. When the renders come out you see such realism that you notice the imperfections on your design and it makes you go back and add more details. I like that. br
So here are a few of my re-renders in vray for sketchup. I’m still not completely  satisfied,  not until I learn the best settings and post processing procedures for my designs. But boy is this still fun!
