So my buddy Jasen Hudson Photography asked me if I could use my architectural design skills to dream up a visualization for the new studio he and some partners are working on. So he sends me a few photos, gives me the dimensions, and I design away. Funny thing with this project was that I just thought about it, and thought about it but never put anything on paper or anything. I just got inspiration today and started the project and I just couldnt stop. This is how I know I love this type of work (Architectural designing) I worked, and fixed and rendered, forgot to eat, time just flew!
So I designed this in sketchup, with furniture from the warehouse, and rendered in Kerkythea. I really am very proud of this because it was exactly what the client was envisioning! This was not my vision, this was just me making his vision come to life.
Here are some before images:

I cannot believe I dint think about this sooner! So I was looking through my old drawings.. (I have hundreds!) and I thought, why don’t I try to recreate some of these in Sketchup!?!? I was so excited I got all kinds of plans and ideas.  I found this house I had drawn just sketching with pen. I used to just get an idea and I used to like drawing with pen.
I was suprised on how short of a time it took me to recreate this in Sketchup. By this time now I am well versed with the software. Also having the drawing right infront of me helps me just get to work on making it, and not making and designing it. I always knew this was the way to do things. I dont know why I stopped. I am very proud of how this came out.
I can also do this for YOU! If you have an old drawing of a house or an old sketch of an addition I offer this service. Contact me and I can make your 2-D sketch into 3D reality!

010-

Sketchup has been the best program to enter my life since Fruityloops. I know, totally different types of programs. But when I’m into something I like being able to create it, not just enjoy it. I adore music, and with fruityloops I was allowed to make music because that is something I always wanted to do. So this Sketchup by Google allowed me to create and manipulate my FIRST loves.. love of cars and houses.

When I found this program I could not stop using it. While at work I would think about it. On my breaks I was looking at videos of what people have done with Sketchup. I couldnt believe I had not gotten my hands on this software years before! But I thought… thats ok, I am a fast learner. So this is why I am showing my first tries at this program. To show how far I have come, and how fast I learned it.

This house is terrible ugly, but I had found out about the 3d warehouse and I just wanted to see how these things would look like with my model. Then I saw it on the screen and I said.. hmm this looks cool, but not “real” enough for me. (I always want more, and better) So I searched and found some rendering softwares to render my files. So instead of learning the Sketchup I’m trying to find out how to make things look more realistic. After my (then) slow computer made me give up on trying to render big files I got to learning Sketchup.

What I have here is just my first try at a house with some cars and a boat with trees. I cannot remember which renderer I used here, but I was excited when I first did it. This was created the first week I got into Sketchup, I believe around June of 2009. And as I add my recent files you will see how far I have come with this software. (f.y.i. I did not create the cars or trees)

Thanks for checking this out!
